YEAR THREE
Hello and welcome to the Year 3 page. Here you’ll find key information about your child’s class and what to expect throughout this exciting stage of their learning journey.
Year 3 marks the beginning of Key Stage 2, and with it comes new challenges, opportunities, and adventures in learning. We aim to create a positive, supportive, and engaging environment where children feel confident to grow as independent learners and curious thinkers.
Throughout the year, your child will continue to build on their core skills in reading, writing, and maths, while also exploring a rich and varied curriculum across subjects like science, history, geography, and the arts. We encourage children to take pride in their work, embrace new ideas, and develop a strong sense of responsibility for their own learning.
As always, if you have any questions or would like to discuss your child’s progress, please don’t hesitate to get in touch—our door is always open.
Warm regards,
Mrs Hedges

TRANSITION FOR SEPTEMBER 2025
To help aid transition, we have created a short presentation to help introduce you to your new teacher and a word document to help you learn more about your new class. We hope this helps.

HOME LEARNING
While we don't set weekly homework tasks for your child to complete we do see the benefits of regular reading, spelling and maths fluency practice. Below are links to two maths programmes that will improve your child's maths fluency and automaticity (Numbots - EY/KS1 and TTRockstars KS1/2). Alongside these programmes we advise that children read either their decodable book or love of reading book daily and also practice their spellings from the list below.
