YEAR ONE
Hello and welcome to Year One's Page. Here you are able to access some relevent information about your child's class.
We are passionate about providing a high-quality, nurturing environment where every child can shine. Year 1 is an exciting time of development and curiosity, and we are dedicated to ensuring our children enjoy their first year in Key Stage 1.
Following swiftly on from their time in FS2, your child will take their next steps of their educational journey in Year 1. We aim to create an engaging and imaginative learning environment where children feel safe to explore and experiment. We believe in inspiring enthusiasm for learning through a rich and varied curriculum that is both challenging and enjoyable. In Year 1, your child will develop essential early reading, writing, and mathematical skills.

TRANSITION FOR SEPTEMBER 2024
To help aid transition, we have created a short presentatio to help introduce you to your new teacher and a word document to help you learn more about your new class. We hope this helps.

HOME LEARNING
While we don't set weekly homework tasks for your child to complete we do see the benefits of regular reading, spelling and maths fluency practice. Below are links to two maths programmes that will improve your child's maths fluency and automaticity (Numbots - EY/KS1 and TTRockstars KS1/2). Alongside these programmes we advise that children read either their decodable book or love of reading book daily and also practice their spellings from the list below.
